The Role:
As a Principal Software Engineer in the Irdeto Online Piracy Detection (OPD) Team, you will be contributing to the next generation of piracy detection software. Your job will be to work with a global team of engineers and analysts to figure out how to identify, scrape, enforce, and report on sources of online piracy, and produce tools and software that allow to do this as efficiently as possible. 
Due to specifics of our business, every day will bring new challenges to face and problems to solve.
 
Your mission at Irdeto:

• Working Working in a group of engineers to define product architecture and design
• Implementing and maintaining new features in the Web Video, Live Sporting Event, or Peer-to-Peer services product line.
• Developing and deploying products in AWS cloud environment (EC2, S3, RDS, EKS, DynamoDB, SNS, Lambda, SQS , Terraforms, Docker, etc.)
• Working in an agile fashion.
• Working in cross-functional teams that include professional services and technical operations as part of end to end product delivery and troubleshooting.
• Mentoring junior engineers.
• Leading the design and development process.
• Driving innovation and constantly seeking the most efficient path forward.

 
How you can add value to the team?

• A natural interest in social media and streaming media platforms. 
• A passion for solving problems. 
• Experience with a wide variety of technologies including cloud (AWS preffered)
• Experience with social media platforms and streaming media platforms. 
• 10-15 years experience with software development. 
• Hands-on experience with cloud environments: AWS (preferred), Google Cloud and/or Azure.
• Expert-level knowledge in Python and at least one more technology, programming language, or methodology (Java is a plus)
• Experience in/understanding of web protocols and technologies: HTTP, CSS, DOM. 
• Familiarity with continuous integration processes. 
• Experience with React, Git, GitlabCI/Jenkins, CI, CD, YAML, Docker (preferred), Kubernetes, ECS.
• An understanding of, and having worked in, agile/scrum. 
• Experience with SQL or NoSQL databases.
• Experience in networking and network security – routing, firewalls, load balancing, DNS (nice to have).
