As a SOC second line Engineer, you provide advanced support for our internal & external customers. In this role, you will join our centralized Technology team at Irdeto The SOC (service operations center) is Irdeto’s center of excellence for Irdeto’s products, services, technology, IT, and DevOps teams.  We deliver outstanding operational services to our customers, both internal and external. The SOC is dedicated to the lifecycle management of Irdeto’s products and services, and ensure our products operate flawlessly in the cloud.


Your Mission at Irdeto

  • Manage and review the operational incidents and escalations for the product and engineering team
  • Develop and advocate operations best practices, standards and processes
  • Support the team leads on the teams shift schedules and give feedback on their performance.
  • Coach and mentor your team members on technical items and give recommendations on improvements.
  • Maintain contact with the customer, our field experts, technicians, and other relevant parties.  
  • Provide administration and maintenance support for SOC tool suite (example: Splunk, AWS CloudWatch, VictorOps, etc.  
  • Perform environment troubleshooting with SOC engineers to quickly resolve the issues.  
  • Work on continuous improvement, development and maintenance of procedures and their documentation.  
  • Work on continuous improvement initiatives (Automation) and lead in product onboarding, service transitions and projects.  
  • This position will involve a weekly on-call routine for first-line assistance along with usual working hours.  
  • Responsible for SOC 1st Line training and development. 2nd Line team will also be required to help arrange product/service training to keep up-to-date and current on what is supported. 



  • 2+ years’ experience working in AWS cloud environments.
  • 2+ Experience with monitoring tooling, log aggregation and analysis (using at least one tool i.e. Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, loki, Elasticsearch).
  • Having prior support (1st line experience) is advantageous.  
  • Good Communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Customer focused.
  • A true team player! 
  • Willing to continuously improve your skills and gain necessary expertise.
  • Project & Incident Management experience will be advantageous.  
  • Good scripting experience in one of these languages is advantageous: PowerShell, Bash, Python. 
  • Knowledge of FreshService or other ticketing system is beneficial.
  • Experience with Jira or other project and task management tools is beneficial.


Educational Qualification:

  • You have (recently) completed a Bachelor or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or have some work experience in IT.
