The Role: Engineering Manager

As a Team Manager for Systems Integration and User Interface Development at Irdeto's Video Entertainment segment, you will play a pivotal role in providing technical and team leadership. You will be responsible for integrating the end-to-end satellite network operator components (SI) and overseeing application development activities. Collaborating with architects, you will design and deliver Set Top Box (STB) features and solutions to meet business requirements. Additionally, you will drive process improvement initiatives for STB software components integration and take ownership of the team's operational functionality and productivity. Your mission at Irdeto:

• Manage the Systems Integration and User Interface Development team, ensuring effective delivery of business unit objectives and continuous process and operational improvements.
• Improve processes for the integration of STB and Head End software components and assist component vendors in performing integration tests.
• Reviewing and assessing the SI team's deliverables to maintain high-quality standards and compliance with company processes, ensuring efficient execution of strategies across cross-functional teams (CFT).

• Leading the SI team by providing mentorship and guidance, ensuring efficient execution of strategies across cross-functional teams (CFT).

• Oversees the establishment of functional and technical specifications and standards for Systems Integration and User Interface Development.
• Take ownership of infrastructure operationality and functionality, asset management, and procurement.
• Be involved in integration strategies and dependency mapping for various work packages of the release.
• Lead the team in resolving SI and UI development-related issues and concerns.
• Recruit, select, manage performance, and conduct disciplinary actions when necessary for the Decoder Development Leadership team.
   

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Electronic and/or Computer Engineering or a similar field.
• A minimum of 10+ years of experience in E2E Satellite Network operator components Integration and Technologies (including STB), working through the Design, Development, Testing, Release cycle and Software delivery.
• Leadership / Management experience of driving Team Efficiencies.
• Strong Knowledge of Mentoring and managing Technical Teams .
• Knowledge of Industry-wide best practices of Processes, Integration Techniques and Tools for Embedded Development.
• Familiarity with SDLC methodologies like Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid, and DevOps.

Technical Expertise Required:

• Embedded C/C++ and core Java programming languages.
• Web technologies (e.g. WS, RESTful, etc.) and scripting languages (e.g. HTML, Javascript, CSS etc.)
• Embedded hardware systems, real-time & Linux operating systems.
• Database Design and Management tools (SQLite, etc.).
• Knowledge of STB software components like on-chip/off-chip drivers, Middleware(e.g. OpenTV, MHP and/or Irdeto) technologies, UI framework.
• DVB (e.g. DVB-S, DVB-S2, DVB-T, DVB-H, DVB-IP), ISDB, MPEG, H.264, H.265, UHD, HDR, File compression techniques and interactive TV knowledge.
