Role description: Financial Analyst
The Financial Analyst plays a crucial role in the organization as he/she will support our largest Market Unit (Video Entertainment) in achieving their short- and long-term goals by pro-actively providing relevant (non) financial information and analysis.

 

The purpose of the role is to manage all financials ensuring control, accuracy, predictability and timely delivery of results, comparative analysis, and commentary to the management of the Market Unit and the Finance team. 

 

You will need to:

  • Understand business/economic/environmental drivers of Actual results versus Budget and Forecast; 
  • Ensure financial planning processes for direct expenses – strategically capture, carefully estimate, and skillfully communicate business impacting events; 
  • Anticipate changes, seek better practices, and contribute to the Unit to be successful in its aims.

In addition to providing business support, you will participate in global projects with your FP&A and other Finance colleagues considering the overall Finance 2025 strategy.

 

Primary responsibilities:

Business Support : Act as primary finance interface to the Video Entertainment Market Unit for all financial matters with a focus on:

  • Business Finance contact:
    • Communicate, discuss, and challenge financial impacts with the team. Prepare and present at relevant meetings where financial input/commentary is required/requested.
  • Manage budget:
    • Engage in creating budget and forecast for the different functions. Ensure department spend to be within approved (restated) budget.
  • Rolling Forecast planning:
    • Maintain a rolling forecast framework to understand future spend and advise in time. 
  • Project Accounting:
    • Able to report and assess effectiveness of separate projects.
  • Profitability analysis:
    • Facilitate (product) profitability data gathering, analysis and discussion.
  • Scenario planning:
    • Able to calculate and present impact of different strategic scenarios.
  • Global support
    • Participate in various global finance related projects with a focus on improving our overall data management, delivering (financial) reports and analysis, streamlining (financial) processes etc.

 

Knowledge & Skill requirements:

•    Combines a MSc degree in Finance / Accounting or Economics with at least 2 years of relevant work experience in an international corporate environment;
•    Possesses strong analytical and problem-solving skills and a strong attitude for numbers & accuracy;
•    Great excel skills;
•    Can perform under stress & work within strict deadlines;
•    Shows a "get things done" mentality and a willingness to deep dive in different relevant topics;
•    Is pro-active with the ability to play a supporting role;
•    Has a flexible approach and ability to work independently as well as in teams;
•    A good communicator who connects easily with different stakeholders;
•    Experience with tools/systems such as Oracle ERP, Oracle EPM (EPBCS), HFM and Tableau is a plus.
