The Governance, Risk & Control Intern will support the GRC function in maintaining effective governance practices, internal control monitoring, compliance administration, and third-party risk screening processes. The intern will gain exposure to internal controls, corporate governance, and vendor due diligence within a global technology environment. 

Key Responsibilities

Governance & Compliance Support

  • Assist in maintaining governance documentation, policies, procedures, and registers.
  • Support policy review cycles and document version control.
  • Help coordinate governance committee and management reporting activities.

Internal Controls & Assurance

  • Support internal control testing and documentation activities.
  • Collect and organize evidence for management control reviews.
  • Track remediation actions from audits and control assessments.
  • Assist with reporting on control effectiveness and outstanding actions.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives across governance and control processes.

Third-Party Risk Screening

  • Coordinate third-party onboarding and screening requests.
  • Perform preliminary due diligence reviews using approved screening tools.
  • Review screening reports for sanctions, political exposure, adverse media, and industry risk indicators.
  • Maintain third-party screening records and supporting documentation.
  • Track risk decisions, approvals, and remediation actions.
  • Prepare summaries of screening outcomes for management review.

Administrative & Project Support

  • Maintain SharePoint repositories and filing structures.
  • Track action items arising from governance, risk, and compliance activities.
  • Support awareness and training initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience

Required

  • Currently completing or recently completed a degree in: 
    • Risk Management
    • Internal Audit
    • Corporate Governance
    • Legal Compliance
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good attention to detail and analytical ability.

Preferred

  • Interest in Governance, Risk, Compliance and Internal Audit
  • Familiarity with risk management, governance, compliance, or audit concepts.
  • Exposure to data analysis tools such as Power BI is advantageous.

  • Demonstrated growth in GRC knowledge and capability.
